So true. I recently asked a colleague “So do you teach the same way you did 7 years ago?” (our middle school was restructured 7 years ago because it was a Program Improvement (failing) middle school) please excuse the nested parentheses.
And the response was “Yes, we usually improve most 5th grade scores by the end of 6th grade.” This not not ok.
We are in the 21st century, the world is changing very quickly. To stand still is to be left behind.
You MUST want to be better. You must be working for continual improvement.
Good enough is not ok.
